Tung oil hardening

Heys guys, i got a question...

How long does it take for tung oil to totally harden and be able withstand unwanted substances?

I am asking this because I had left my newly coated neck to sure for 40 necks, but Oops! I accidentally spilled some lemon oil on it. Not a lot though.

Do I have to re-tung-oil my neck, or can i just leave it??

Ummm.... WHAT?!

It normally takes 24-48 hours for tung oil to cure depending on your enviroment, but unless you can see a spot that is discernably blemished, I wouldn't think you'd need to refinish it.

Aren't you the guy that about a month ago asked how much to put on there, and when everyone said a coat would do it, you put on like 4 or 5 anyway? If you put it on that thick, it just turns into a gooey mess. It never gets shiny and thick like the laquer finishes. If you did it right it should have cured by now. It's usually only a 1-2 thing.

lol... oh well. Either way, you should be fine, so long as you wiped the thing down after your spill. Lemon juice is a bit acidic, so I'm not sure how tung will react to it. But I assume you'd have not let it sit there to find out.

Pretty sure it wasn't me... especially since I only put two coats on.
