Tuning way down

I have an old guitar just needs a Floyd Rose to make it playable again. I was thinking it'd be fun to drop it down a fourth, to B:

BEADF#B

Will this work? What sort of strings should I use? I was considering the Not Even Slinkies which are:

12-16-24p-32-44-56

But I don't know if the 56 is thick enough for a low B. I've considered using the bottom 6 strings of a 7 string set, but then I'd have a wound 3rd string, which I'm not crazy about.

I'd appreciate any insights.

.056 should be heavy enough, IMO.

Re: Tuning way down

12-56 will work, you'll need to adjust the springs on your Floyd to get it working right though. Mind you the string may be a bit flimsy to play on but that depends on what your used to. I currently have a set of 9-46 with a 56 for a low B for my universe right now and it's ok. VASTLY different from my previous string setup (10-60 with a 70 for a Low B [Hybrid GHS Zakk Wylde set])
