Twisted JEM777VBK Neck - Can this be fixed?

Wow.. that topic looks scarey! *I bought the guitar used. *It's in BEAUTIFUL condition with bright green plastic and inlays, but it hadn't been played for a very long time. *I've been following your setup tips with great success but when I was adjusting the truss rod I noticed that the bow on the low E side is deeper than the bow on the high E side. * It's not a huge difference, but looking down the each side of the neck I can see a difference, and it does effect the playability to some extent.

Thanks,
Doug

I would let the neck settle after making truss rod adjustments before having a cow over a twisted neck.

Chances are it will spring back into place, being it sat for so long...unplayed. Plus, climate changes have a great deal to do with the neck moving around.

Let it set over night, tuned to pitch, and check it again in the morning. Do another adjustment, and let it set over night again.

You'll find that necks this thin will be quirkey. Don't panic...it should adjust out.

There's more tension on the bass side. It's normal for it to bow a little more on this side. I actually find it's the perfect setup and eliminates quite alot of buzz on the wound strings with low action.
