Two new builds a 6 & an 8

Went down B&Q to by some jigsaw blades and they had a sale on, so bought my first cheap bench tools

So I though I better build some new ones
I chopped up a couple of cheap trems for a laugh,

so thought I better build a guitar to go with it. I've got no idea about 8's, hell last time a played a 7 was a universe 20 years ago..
Anyway droptop wood

Scarf - wish I had a bandsaw

blocks to keep the fretboard in place for glueing

Where we are so far

So what have I been upto? Gluing maple onto the tops - all the clamps I own

Glue top on minus arm contour, then next day bent the wood. Just keep the bend wet & tighten the clamps every 3 mins - took about 30 total. Then remove clamps add glue & tighten it all down again

cut the neck pockets & bodies & necks are rough shaped

then started making the trem block
ali, £5 from the bay

chop a bit off

drill holes

tap holes

New block holds 2 pieces of the trem together rock solid

Is that Wenge under the fretboard with the pyramid inlays in the first pic? Is that what you used for the 8's fretboard?
Also, nice work with the bastard trem!
