Ugly paint job inside trem route on MIK Ibanez.

Just had an RGT42DX neckthru shipped to me. It's fantastic playing, but now after looking it over I noticed a few things. One is that the inside wall of the trem route (parallel to the bridge pickup) looks like it was vaguely taped off and didn't get white paint. But then there's a 1/2" long paint drip right in the center. It's just cosmetic, but you can see it if you look down at the trem the right way.

Does anybody else have unfinished parts of the trem routing on their MIK or MIJ Ibanez? I guess I just expected better quality finishing overall. Some of the binding near my higher frets on the high E side looks like it got either filed too much or didn't get enough clear coat as well.

Sounds to me like bad quality control. Japan would never let that out the door, I don't think. You could try going to the ibanez forum and ping Jay, the guy that logs in as "IBANEZ". He's the contact between the Ibanez forum and Hosino USA.

Each cosmetic thing isn't a big deal on this guitar, but together there are a few. Just going to exchange it. I love the guitar otherwise, very comfy!
