USRG30 neck removal

Kinda missed my green one, so I just picked up another one (you guessed it, the ubiquitous purple this time...but it's a nice quilt).

Thanks to the tech section I've succesfully adjusted the truss, but now I'd like to shim the neck to get the trem up out of the cavity and further lower the action.

Before I unbolt, anything I need to be aware of with the tension-free system...complications with the truss adjustment, etc? Thanks.

Hi! Congrats! I always wanted a purple, have one of the dark amber ones, and (pls dont hurt me) like it more than a JEM. Even tho it is rosewood, my fav 6-string neck- wish they had made a 7, I'd own a few of those

I never had to shim mine, so I can't help ya there, sorry Very slight adjustment, and the neck has stayed the same since '98 when I got it.

Anyone ever see a used (or new leftover) tension free neck for sale? Love to grab one for a project...

hi, you should have no problem removing the neck. it has the same pocket and 4 bolts as the other AANJ necks

the capped access hole (set-screw) in the pocket adjusts the neck internally and has no relation to neck removal. just don't cover the access hole w/ the shim... glen

Thanks Glen...that's what I expected, but wanted to be sure.

ns9...shoot me an email if you want to consider a trade...I always wanted an amber one.

A little shim did the trick...the playability is spot on. Looks pretty too...

Purple's not my #1 choice, but the tone and feel are amazing.
