Wanted: Pickup Recommendations.... - might change the bridge

I'm thinking of trying something different in the bridge position on my Floral, and I'd like to boost the middle pickup to something that can keep up with the pack... I think the PAF Pro in the neck is fine, but I wouldn't be adverse to trying something else there for fun... Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. And no, even if I swap them out, the original pickups will not be available for sale...

thanks
Jim

I always say:

- Evo (bridge)
- Texas Specials or HS-2 (middle)
- PAF Pro (neck)

Killer combination!

I have an evo in the bridge position of my FP and i have to say that it sounds great! It perfectly matches the PAF pro... you can get two very different sounds simply using your switch. You also get pretty much the same volume because the PAF *is 300 mv output which is pretty high for a neck output.

I have a Dimarzio Fast track 2 on my strat if you wanted the triple humbucker it will fit in the single coil slot with no mods. *It has a lot of the characteristics of a single coil but no hum and boosted mids. *I don't know if the colors are limited to black and white or if they offer other colors. *

PEACE :innocent:

There are loads of yummy DiMarzio pickups to try that balance well with the PAF Pro in the neck So aside from the Evo and Fred already mentioned...

Maybe a regular Norton? Or a Tone Zone? Both have more output than the PAF Pro. And Don't forget the Breeds - maybe even try the neck breed in the bridge position after all it's still got more output than a PAF Pro

If you decide to go for Duncans then the JB is a great pickup.

Or maybe try to get hold of a Bill Lawrence L-500 for some instant Nuno-isms

For the mid slot I also reckon the twin blade single coil sized HB from DiMarzio But personally would go for the lower output Fast Track 1 over the Fast Track 2... www.DiMarzio.com will have the specs and probably sound clips
