What kind of material cloth should wipe my guitar with?

I use to just use the small cloth for wiping glasses, yes the glasses u wear!!! hehehehe...
I was wondering if there is any other thing else I can use that won'[t harm the finish on my guitar. Thanx

Old cotton t-shirts, white.

Cost - 0, you had it already and if you're not wearing it, it's trash.

Gloss - 100, works great, as long as it's all cotton.

Color - white, I used an old red one once and it seems there was a tiny bit of stray dye in it that ended up staining some of the bare wood, but no big deal, 000 steel wool and good as new.

Yep, for minimal surface scratching use 100% cotton cloth, or microfibre cloth.

I use to use Meguiar's 100% cotton cloth (for polishing cars), but now use Meguiar's Microfibre cloth (also for polishing cars, but newer technology(for polishing cloths anyway)).

The microfibre is smooth, soft, and apparently won't harm a clear coat as much as 100% cotton will(which won't harm it much at all).

I actually use a good-sized square of blue plaid flannel for my guitars. It started as a pair of boxers someone gave me for christmas or something, i think, and i REALLY don't like flannel boxers. So, they sat in my drawer for ages, and when i lost the cotton cloth i'd been using for polishing before and needed something to polish with, well, i felt like i ought to do SOMETHING with them...

I've got a seperate chunk of white cotton, fairly coarse weave, that i use for the strings and fretboard. My mom sews, so there's a ton of this stuff all over the house.
