Re: What kind of pickups

Maybe a passive DiMarzio D Activator or DiM. A. X version. They should be a clone of active Emgs.

bareknuckle warpigs, nothing even comes close otherwise. Have just fitted them in my epi les paul bullseye, if its a cleaner tone you want with them opt for the alnico magnets.

I ment with distortion sounds like an emg but when clean i want a nice warm tone. Well warmer that emg clean. They are so bright and all trebel i don't like them clean. The 81 in bridge anyway.

Re: What kind of pickups

still warpigs, i meant that the ceramic magnet option with them has a bit too much of an edge to be mellow really. If you need a pickup to go mad with distortion, sound like an emg but not be one and then be warm and clean, alnico bareknuckle warpigs are it. The pigs really do have emphysis on the mid range and low end but will provide crazy screaming harmonics, yet sound thick and rich clean. go to bareknuckle's website for sound samples. Its the exact reason i didn't want emg's in my lp, although they'd be true to ZW they just aren't my thing.

Re: What kind of pickups

definitely second on the BKP Warpig
On a budget, the regular D-Activator's should do as well.

D-activators are great and don't require battery... recommended.
