What type of tremolo is this?

Hello,

I found this guitar on the bay and I'm thinking about placing an bid. The seller claims it's an Ibanez Edge tremolo but to me it looks like a trs.. I'm wondering what you guys think.

Here's the item number. 230370710378

Thanks for your help in advance.

Definitely not an Edge, that's for sure.

Interestingly, not only is it definitely not an Edge of any kind, it's not even double-locking. My first Ibanez was a mid-90s RG270 that came with this exact bridge, the strings feed in at the back of the trem where the locking screws would be on an Edge and don't lock at the bridge whatsoever.

The 200 series came with the non double locking trem. Basically the lowest model offered.

Personally I think the guitar has reached it's max value at the current bid.

Re: What type of tremolo is this?

i have a trem like that. It does not stay in tune well. Luckily the standard floyd replacement parts worked, so string saver floyd edition are on there now, they work quite well. Also, blocking to dive-only helped with tuning, cause the knife edges have a lot of friction.

Yeah, I actually bid on the guitar. I thought it would be cool to have a 2nd guitar that I can use for alternate tunings and what not. If I wanted too I can prob upgrade the trem.

Well, you most certainly couldn't downgrade it....
