What's your pick for best kind of paint for refinish?

What's everyone's favorite paint for refinish work? Lacquer? Enamel? Polyurethane? What's the most durable, hard finish you've used? Any brand recommendations?

I like the Dupont Chromasystem. You need good spray equipment, though.

The paint may not be very hard when it is dry. It will give dings very fast. That is what happens to all our dear ibanez jem heel joints.
