When Scalloping a neck.....

I have noticed on some of the pics found here, that on the scalloping of the necks the fret markers appear to be sanded as well. What is being done there? Do you remove the markers, file the scallops then put in new fret markers and then sand them to the angle?

Hi,
Years ago I scalloped a Charvel/Jackson neck, and The markers were deep enough that I didn't remove them or replace them. I think one came out and I just glued it back in. I don't know about Ibanez necks. If you have jumbo frets already, you shouldn't have to scallop too much and maybe the fret markers can be left as is.
