Where to find Trem post (locking screw) mod kit ?

Hi everybody!

Following RIch's tuning stability problems section , i streched all the strings and they now perfectly stay in tune when diving the bar. But they good a little sharp when Pulling the trem.

SO i thoug it could be a Trem post Problem , because i haven't the locking studs mounted

SO can everybody tell me where i can find them? I watched on COTTAM GUITARS , but i don't know where i can order it through the site ( i can't find them on the part section.)

Thanks.

Max sells them, drop him an email, I sell them, drop me an email, but don't expect 100% return even with the stud mod. It should improve return if you've thinned the knives correctly and lubed the contact points though.

Before you bought the lock post, try this option 1st.

Ok before lubing up, take off the whole damn tremolo and the screw stud, get hold of a sealing tape, dirt cheap, normally it is use for piping installation to prevent from leaking.

Wrap up a few rounds or to desired amount clockwise on the screw stud, Screw it back to the stud mounting nut on the guitar. Make sure the stud is tight. Shake it left and right to ensure it sits tightly.
Lube up the stud groove and your trem knife edge.
Next mount your tremolo with the springs and restrung the guitar, adjust slowly both the studs height to your liking.

1 disadvantages is that do not turn it anticlockwise to loosen it up, you will have to reseal the stud back with the sealing tape, so make sure you get the correct height the 1st time without unscrewing back the stud.

Try this option, super cheap and stays intune.

i use this trick some years now, but i haven't really had problems loosening the studs and/or adjusting their height many times until i find desired strings action. the studs would stay pretty locked even then.

anyway, it's a great improvement at a ridicolous cost.

Yes nuno, your the man, I thought I'm the only one thought of it and sharing the idea. It's very effective and the stud is holding tight in there without any movement.

The reason is normally a sealing tape will lose it's sealing properties once you remove it or turn it anticlockwise, so the best is do some marking on the stud before hand and tightened it clockwise once without turning back.
