Which bridge for custom Warmoth?

I'm torn between two fixed bridge setups, what do you guys think?

Warmoth offers a traditional strat-type fixed bridge that I'm sure we've all seen at one point, as well as this new option...

I like it, but I don't think it will sound as good. There is little-to-no break angle across the saddles and I can't imagine that to be a good thing...

opinions?

The second option, however, provides (supposedly and logically) great sustain... I would definitely go with the second...

You really think so? I've never understood the whole "String-thru body = better sustain/tone" thing.

I'd think it would suffer from "strat syndrome" because of the minimal break angle...

They're both string-thru-body. Break angle will make a difference - I would think higher break angle would increase sustain. But, probably after a certain point, break angle wouldn't make a difference. Comparing those two - I'd be thinking more about aesthetics and ease of adjustment rather than sustain and tone.

Oh I should mention - I was contemplating the same thing earlier (I started another thread similar to this one). But I still haven't decided what I'd prefer. I mean my strat (with the bridge blocked) sustains forever. But I kinda like the look of the Tune-O . . .

My thoughts exactly.

I did too at first, but now I'm thinking the simpler approach may be more the route to go. The guitar itself is going to be natural (Alder) with a maple neck and black hardware.

Think direct string-body vibration interaction as well as longer string length.

Which do you think would promote tighter attack?
