WHICH IBANEZ TREMOLO SHOULD I USE?

I started an Iceman project. I have an edge II tremolo that I am going to have professionally installed. One day I will likely switch to the Lo Pro edge tremolo. Would this be a direct swap with no complications? Also what would be the difference in tone between these trems?

Re: WHICH IBANEZ TREMOLO SHOULD I USE?

If I'm not mistaken, all Edge bridges are compatible in eachother's cavities. But don't quote me on that. Have you considered an OFR? OFR's are direct swaps for Edge tremolos.

Will the bridge be set to float, or will it just sit flat against the body? That makes a big difference in tone and sustain. As far as I'm aware, though, different tailpieces make a negligible difference in tone, provided they have similar sustain blocks.

There was really no need for a duplicate thread, either.

The easiest retrofit on a guitar equipped with an Edge Pro II tremolo will be an Edge Pro. What salamander said was not correct. The newer Edge Pro routes are smaller than those of the original Edge/Lo-Pro Edge trems.

That's why I said not to quote me. At least you caught me.

Just an agreement that the only simple upgrade fro the Edge Pro II is the Edge Pro(drop in and go). ANy other bridge would require routing.
