why does it not work all the time?

why is it a 50% change that an edge(lopro) will fit into a trs place?

There are lots of posts about TRs/Edge exchanges but I can't find much about "why" !!!

I presume it's about quality control on teh TRS equipped guitars, or possibly something to do with the location of the mounting posts on certain guitars.

Maybe one of our tech-heads can explain the "why"?

Specs, tollerances and the final routing is subject to variation. Minor production tweaks happen along any assembly line. Now, this is very simple, when you figure the korean axes are built and routed for the TRS and NOT the Edge. I repeat... not the Edge.

The fact that you can shoehorn in the Edge/LoPro trem is more of a coincidence. Because again, the guitar was designed and built for a TRS not the Edge.

We can follow-up the conversation in the multiple other TRS/Edge threads ...glen
