Question

Why my JEM77FP has this kind of trem posts?

http://ameba.lpt.fi/~vilkmati/Sontaa/DSC00300.JPG

There they are. Don't mind the saddles. They're on better positions nowadays :-p

Anyway, I've had my JEM for about 9 years now. Been wondering many times why the trem posts are like that. They look like normal screws but they are something between a screw and an ordinary trem post. They've a sharp lower tip like a screw, but they have the exact same spot for the knife edged like normal posts. Still, I haven't had any problems with staying in tune!

Ideas? Ever seen those before? It's an '89 FP.

Second question. I tried to fit a lo-pro edge on my JEM (didn't put the strings on). I really like the feel of the lo-pro. Could/would there be any problems if I just get one for this one? (http://ameba.lpt.fi/~vilkmati/Sontaa/Osat/DSC00686.JPG)

Thanks!

Those do not look standard at all. Cool if it works. Maybe someone stuck the screwheads onto the normal post because he lost the wrenches?

Edge and Lo-pro edge have the same shape so it shouldn't be an issue. I would only advise same color.

Nope. Too bad I didn't take a picture last time I took them off. Maybe I should change them to normal ones. Or change the whole bridge. And of course to a cosmo one =)

It appears that someone might have had an OFR in there before or the previous owner simply replaced the studs for OFR studs. I'd say get them replaced.

You shouldn't have any problems putting a Lo-Pro in there. Personally, I think Jems look better with a Lo-Pro than an Edge for aestethic reasons.

Yepp. Me, too. And I kinda start liking the feel of the lo-pro that I've on my new built RG/JEM.

Well... not very much to say if you don't have any problems!
I'd get them replaced ASAP, though.

And no worries about the Lo-Pro: it fits like a glove!

Those are definitely not stock posts, some sort of a mod.
