Wilkinson Tremolo Bridges

Will a Wilkinson tremolo bridges fit into a RG body whcih is originally equipped with Lo-Trs I ?

I am thinking of changing the Lo-trs I with OFR or a Wilkinson
But the OFR is so expensive

i undersatand that the wilkinson trem is not a locking system and hence you would have to use the nut unclamped. in my opinion, lotrs brigdes are bad for fluttering and dive bombs, etc, but for normal use it's ok. the wilkinson, being non locking, won't allow much playing with the bar without going out of tune, so i don't see much improvement there.
changing trems is really expensive, and unless you have a sentimental thing for your guitar, it is would be cheaper to sell the guitar and get one with a good trem.
(ie used rg 5xx)
hope this helps.

Although I havent used one myself they can take a lot of abuse before they go out of tune. They can also go sharp - but I guess you know that! However all in all they seem very good pieces of kit.

Do you mean the two post non-locking trem (the VS100) that's most commonly referred to as 'the Wilkinson'? *You might be able to put one in, but it is a non-locking system. *There are no fine-tuners, so if you did lock the nut, you'd have to unlock it to retune. *There's also going to be a very large hole in the back of your guitar that this relatively small bridge will not cover up.

I had a Yamaha equipped with one of these and Sperzel locking tuners for a while. *It held its tuning extremely well, even with some fierce trem usage. *I greatly prefer the Edge these days though.

Check out Warmoth's website (www.warmoth.com), I think they have a diagram with measurements that might help you figure out if it will fit or not. *I don't really think it would work well as a TRS replacement though.
