Re: wilkonson trem

It is somewhat floating. It isn't flush against the body. But you can pull up, only a half note tops. I own a Wilkinson VS100, and it keeps the guitar in tune very well. I can do flutters, but only very subtle ones, or the guitar will go out of tune.

One could lubricate the nut. That might help. Or insert a locking nut. That would keep the guitar in tune, after less subtle flutters.

You should look through the Gotoh site. There are a lot of options. There are even a couple of them which look like the one on John Petrucci's guitars.

Re: wilkonson trem

The Wilkinson VS100 tremolo is great and stays well in tune with locking tuners. The trem does flutter but not as much as a Floyd as Myst already said. The arm holder thingy is best thing about the trem .

Regards

Re: wilkonson trem

You mean because it kind of sucks the arm in there?

My arm holder is broken. I used to kind of use the whammy bar for things it wasn't designed to do. So now the black plastic is torn, causing the arm to wobble. Also, the paint under the arm holder is chipped off.
