Will a Ibanez squared heel neck fit a Jackson body?
I want to buy a
jackson soloist
(string thru mode) and swap the neck for an old school Ibanez squared heel neck (which are HARD to find!) why? because Ibanez dosen't make tune-o-matic bridged
string thru body
RG style guitars, this way I can have the tone of a TOM guitar and have that awesome Ibanez look.
Is it do able?

I doubt it because the last fret hangs over the heel...

Ok, you need to ask 2 questions.
1. Is the heel/neck pocket the same dimensions?
2. Is the scale length the same?
If the answer to either of those questions is no it would probably be easier to cut off the Jackson headstock and replace with an Ibanez.

I'm really confused here. How do you swap the neck on a neck-thru guitar?
?!?!

lol, no one said anything about a
neck thru
model, lol
The scale is the same, the neck pocket size im not to sure about, I see what you mean about the hangover, that might limit the neck pickpup or the whole neck going in.
I will have a look at the bay and see if I see anything.

by scale length, he's talking about the scale length with the neck in place. if your old jackson neck has a heel that goes all the way under the 23rd & 24th frets, then the
ibanez neck
with the overhang will not work, because essentially, the ibanez neck is a 22 fret neck with the extra frets laying over a small portion of the body (between the
neck pickup
and back edge of the neck pocket). if the back of the neck pocket is flush up against the neck pickup, then the overhang neck will never intonate right (if you cut off the last 2 frets) because the scale length will be too short.
you could always look into getting a neck custom made. christopher wood's stuff looks pretty good
