Yet another Floyd question...

Alright, this should be simple enough...
Will removing one of the four springs out the Floyd Rose on my Dillion 7-string help loosen up the feel of the guitar { the guitar has always felt really really tight, even after about a year of moderately heavy trem useage...}? If so, how do i remove it? Does a 7-string HAVE to have 4 springs because of the added tension from the low B? And last of all, what type of formation do i want the remaining three srpings to be in?
Thank you!!!

7 strings tend to have a little higher tension than normal, plus your dillon isnt that high quality so its gonna feel a little stiff. you should be able to releive some things if you take out one spring, but you might now have enough room to keep the trem at the proper angle, cause your gonna have to tighten the trem claw :P

Is this the Dillion that looks just like an RG7420, except for the cooler top? The one I played rivalled the Ibanez in every respect, right down to the cheap pickups. UGLY headstock however.

In general, TRS equipped guitars tend to be a bit on the stiff side, similar to the Original Floyd Rose in feel. You could try removing one of the springs, but you'll have to tighten up the spring tension to compensate for the missing spring. Might turn out to be a wash.

Try replacing the springs with some used ones.

One thing that always makes a guitar feel stiff is improper action at the locknut. Is your locknut height correct?

Hey guys, thanks for the help!
Yeah, this is the one that looks just like an RG7 with a flame { well, i think it may be photoflame} maple top. Mine is green! I also have a red one with a fixed bridge, it's great, too!!! So you don't like the headstock, huh? That's a first, everybody else that has seen the guitar has loved it! Anyway, you know, i'm really not sure if my height at the locknut is correct or not... how does one go about checking, and how do i fix it?
i'd appreciate your help!
Thanks,
