yet another trem bar question

How tight should the spring screw be?

and

how "tight" is your trem arm holder? when you hold the bar lightly and move quickly up and down, do you hear any noise? any ticking or thudding? is it totally silent and no "play" at all?

ive already broken one arm holder, but on my other mint condition 550 reissue the bar is slightly loose on that one too. (i broke the 7620's tightening and loosening it)

the (brand new) bar on my 550 is just starting to show wear above where the nylon washers are, on the forwards and backwards area (as in, diving and pullups, theres no where on the sides obviously) becuase of the slight amount of play causing the bar to move in the socket, rubbing the finish off.

Re: yet another trem bar question

Both of mine are slightly loose, if you go on Ibanezrules.com and go to the tech section he tells you how to tighten them. It starts to happen after so long, it isn't too much of a problem really. Even though my trem arm broke 2 weeks ago in my 7 string. I don't think it was related to the holder being loose.

As for noises I've had mine be a little squeaky, and also a small sound when it wobbled from being loose. It is pretty silent when it is tight though. The squeakiness was from the little metal clip that is on the holder though.

On my 89 rg550 with original edge the bar is kinda like in your video. I've never tried to tighten it or anything though. But it makes less noise. None at all in fact.
