ZR Trem and Downshifter Help

I just got a downshifter, and I assume that installation is easy - although there is no support to be found anywhere on the Ibanez website, manuals, etc.

I think I am installing it correctly, but it is only dropping 1/2 step instead of a full step to "d."

Can anyone help me out with installation & setup info???!??!?!

Evidently you have it installed right, it just replaces the fine tuner, you're probably not turning it far enough to fully drop. Fiddle with it

Re: ZR Trem and Downshifter Help

I finally got it. I have to say though that it doesn't work very smoothly. Hopefully it is only a matter of breaking it in.

FYI, install the Downshifter just like your regular fine tuners. Tune your E string to pitch. Change the downshifter to the drop position and use a screwdriver to adjust the smaller set screw, which will allow you to tune the lower note to proper pitch. Tightening the small screw will raise pitch and loosening it will drop the pitch.

I'm probably the only idiot who will have this problem. Hopefully this info will help someone else too.

Re: ZR Trem and Downshifter Help

It is clunky, no doubt. Try some lube to smooth it a little.

You fine tune it using the big cupped thingy in either down or up position.
