Re: ZR Tremolo Setup Guide (PicStory, TONS of pics) ZRTremolo

Most people don't like having to replace the ZR29 after it breaks the second time either.

Hey,

I am a vocalist and also play the guitar. I am looking for a new guitar mainly for composing/demo recordings/riff playing. I have shortlisted the Ibanez ART 300 (fixed bridge) and S320 (FR). I have never used a Floyd Rose before and am kind of scared coz I'll be needing to drop tune the guitar regularly (drop D). Do you think its a good idea to go for the S320 or should I stick to the ART 300 ?

Re: ZR Tremolo Setup Guide (PicStory, TONS of pics) ZRTremolo

Hi Jemsters,

I have a quick question. I'm trying to set up the action on a jcustom to avoid fret buzz. I have hybrid 0.009-0.056 and a 0.060 for the low B - but for the life of me I can't get it below 3mm under the low B without fret buzz. I even took it to a guitar shop that didn't do a good enough job. The action is low but it buzzes like hell for notes played beyond the 15th fret.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Re: ZR Tremolo Setup Guide (PicStory, TONS of pics) ZRTremolo

THANKS LOADS for this.
My S570DXQM is the first guitar with a floating trem I have owned.
I just changed my strings on it for the first time (they actually didn't sound to bad for being 6+ months old, but it was more than past time IMO).

It had the stock strings, which I a guessing were 9's
I generally use 10's.
So I changed and noticed that the bridge was no longer at the right angle.
Your guide helped me greatly.

Thanks again.

And damn.
The first S series I ever tried was an S470DXQM the same color as yours.
That was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL guitar I have ever seen.
I had to settle for the blueburst (Don't regret it on bit though).

I can build pedals all day. Hell, I can build a fuzz face clone blindfolded (I even make my own PCB's), but the floating trem thing and the various "horror stories" about even changing strings made me a tad nervous.

Thanks again.

Next step...Possibly lower the action a tiny bit.
