sure it would. just do it. put some locking tuners in there but don't replace the nut, just get rid of the locking pads, pretty much à la
Paul Gilbert. then don't forget to stretch your strings completely before you test the arm.

Vinnie Moore model was lacking of the locking nut too, and it had locking tuners with an Edge-II trem.
