Re: A Prestige 7 String RGA

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed - based on what I've heard I'm quite interested.

Re: A Prestige 7 String RGA

Well, if you can't get an RGA 7 production model, at least try to convince them to do more 7-string S models
The S7320 is really a killer guitar, and at a great price (I get a lot of responses on my S7320, lots of people who want to buy it, so I think it's selling well for Ibanez?).
Some ideas:
- More options for the finish, perhaps also figured maple tops.
- A more high-end model, 'Prestige' or something like that.
- 24 frets.
- A set-neck or neck-through version.

I think it'd make a good alternative for the RGA 7.

The "RGA 7" production model is still a very long shot at this moment.

It doesnt need to come out this year. As long as it ages in the concept room like fine wine, the all is good.

I think it's worth noting that Chris Broderick's RGA7 is one of the few guitars I've seen posted to that site that, almost without exception, everyone wanted. You'd probably need to drop his plain nut for a locking one as a concession to those who use the bar a little more heavily than Broderick does, but if you follow that basic model (mahogany, quilt top, trans black, passive pickups, EP7 trem) then you're almost guaranteed to have a winner.

Personally I'd prefer something other than trans black of course, especially as so many J-Customs are black or Vintage Violin, but at the end of the day I wouldn't really complain.

This isn't a dealbreaker spec either, but I'd prefer a bolt-on to a neck-thru. Most Ibanez guitars are bolt-on for one, so it's not without precident, and almost every Ibanez I've set up had shipped with a little less than what I'd consider ideal neck angle so I've shimmed the neck on every single Ibanez I've owned.

Still, at the end of the day, if you make something based on Chris Broderick's RGA7, you'll have buyers. A signature model is probably out of the question now that he left Nevermore for Megadeth, but a man can hope.

Thanks for your time!

EDIT - seems I'm not alone.
I'd disagree. Marty Friedman is still best known for his role in megadeth. His solo career is quite small outside of asia. Thats probably why his sig is only available in Japan.
Megadeth is a huge band. When ever they make another record featuring Chris opposed to Glen I have a feeling it will do quite well as Chris is a far better guitarist. Besides he was never really in Nevermore. he's more of a touring guitarist rather than a member.

Either way I'd love to see that guitar made. With or without Chris's name on it. (In fact I'd almost prefer it without but He's definitely a good enough guitarist for his name to be on there)

[nit-picking]
I'm 99% sure he actually joined the band for a while - maybe no more than 6-8 months, but...

Nah, Brodderick was never made an official member. He actually mentioned that maybe a week before he parted ways with them.
