Re: A prestige Xiphos, and a few other suggestions.

I would expect that if they sell a ton of the current Xiphos', they'll think about making one at the prestige level. But they won't if there's not a market for it.

So you should always buy two of them.

Yes, a Prestige model would be nice but a satin finish on the standard neck would be an improvement. I'd like to see the return of the Blue/Green Chameleon color too as I see it's been dropped for 2009.

In addition to a prestige Xiphos, make a 7 string Iceman with a trem.

I think a prestige is something i would buy in a second, even if it did have a EZ which is most likely if they ever brought one out. Also I'd like more of the matte finishes, the green on the new 27-fret looks killer, that in red would be delicious.

Re: A prestige Xiphos, and a few other suggestions.

I get that the Xiphos needs to sell some before any more models will be made and I'm planning on getting a 6 string Xihpos, the pretty new white one, but I think a 7 string with a trem would sell. I personally hate super strats, almost blasphemy here I know but I don't like them. I really want a Xiphos 7 string but the fact that there isn't a trem is a turn off, just saying it'd be cool to have.

Re: A prestige Xiphos, and a few other suggestions.

Well they have 4 different models of it in the US this year. But they're all at a top-of-the-line non-prestige level. Although I swore I saw a cheaper bolt-on version somewhere I couldn't seem to find it on there site just now.

So it seems to be selling, and they're adding models to it (There are only 7 S models so 4 is nothing to sneeze at) just not upping the quality (hopefully) yet.

Man I wish they would make a prestige xiphos i would buy one is a heartbeat with a edge-pro trem or fixed hard tail bridge, seymour duncan blackouts, Blood red with black binding would look wicked, Ebony finger board. If the custom shop was still open i would order one in those specs.

The thing I don't get is why you don't see any prestige iceman/destroyer/funny shape guitars/ etc.

I'd find it hard to believe that those kind of guitars wouldn't sell.

Although the nice folks at the big "I" do listen in here (we've seen several requests from this forum come to fruition ), we've got to remember they have access to the real sales figures of their guitars. I'm sure that Tak and the guys will put out a Prestige Xiphos once they can reasonably forecast it won't lose the company money

Who cares about money when you can have a spiky prestige Ibanez? The customer is always right

Exactly and when they know they'll have enough actual customers, rather than just guys posting on internet fan sites...

I'd reckon at least 2 jemsite members would buy one. Thats a whole 2 real customers.

wouldn't be me though, I'm too poor
