Australia

All the competitions on Ibanez pages and anything linked to Ibanez are all for the UK or America. I dont want to complain about anything Ibanez, but they need to take more notice down here in Australia. Every second guitarist here owns an Ibanez, yet Ibanez just sends stock over here and leaves us just to play it, instead of having all these special deals. It is just depressing knowing that Australian bands barely ever get known internationally, and only nationally.. there is plenty of talent down here, but you all look for your bands in USA. Not saying the USA bands are bad, just that Australia has its fair share too, and we all dont play ACDC, Silverchair or whatever other typical australian bands you know in America. Anyways, all I really wanted to say was that we need more australian competitions . UV's rock , adios.

From the Whingy Aussie.

This is a matter for the Australian distributor, Australis Music, who haven't even updated their Ibanez website since late 2001, so don't hold your breath or there'll be one less Ibanez player out there... Perhaps if Ibanez asserts themselves a little more than they normally would need to, they could get Australis to put a bit more thought into their marketing and promotion. I can't even get Australis to reply to my support emails or warranty registration information.

I think the problem is that they carry many brands, Ibanez is just another part of their business. Their focus is on getting them into stores, not into the hands of players. I can't think of a single Australian Ibanez endorsee, because they just don't seem to deal with that aspect of marketing. Yet if they did, they would probably be more visible and sell more. Look at the resurgence of Maton, just due to a good endorsement program and minimal targeted advertising.

The Ibanez Centre is an independent store though, who just happen to specialise in Ibanez guitars. From a business point of view they're no more "Ibanez" than any other music store.

Yeah, they also have great customer service. I bought an Edge bridge from them a few months ago and they kept me up to date with emails and information. They really seemed to go out of their way to get the sale and make sure I was happy with everything.

Definately. nice site by the way, still in a band? I am but its hard to make it big in such a small town, we need to move to brissy or something. Called Militia... we play lots of stuff I would maybe call it funk metal punk most of the time.
