Complaint about the Chilean distributor
i couldn't find an addy for some kind of international ibanez office or something, so i'm posting this here.
The chilean distributor (FANCY MUSIC) has zero post sales service. I went there to try to buy some posts to replace in my 2001 RG570 (thank's rich, if it weren't for you i wouldn't have a clue what's wrong with the guitar!), and they said they 'might' import 'some' parts next year......obviously they weren't aware of the posts thing.
Another thing...the stock leaves a little to be desired, i understand chile is a small market, so i don't expect lots of signature models or prestiges, but i asked for a rg421 and they didn't even know it exists!
if someone where to write with this complaint, please post or PM an addy. thanks

Many times these distributors are single stores, or maybe the biggest store that will supply 4 or 6 other stores in that country. You really can't expect a store to maintain inventories of parts for all or even most models. What you should expect is if you need a part that they would order it for you, even if it takes 6 months to come in. Furthermore, each "distributor" decides which models they want to import and sell. Just as many people in the US would like an RG2127, the distributor is not going to order it for them.

well, this is the distributor for all chile and 2 other countries, (obviously i suspect a few GC's sell more ibanez products than the 3 countries, i know)

that's my point exactly! i don't expect to see a vwh in every mall in chile or something, but trem posts, trem bars, maybe some string locks and stuff like that that any owner WILL need eventually.

Well, I dug up this old post to give credit where credit is due.
I have to say the service from these guys is now impressive! many parts are now available, and I've personally seen them going the extra mile to help customers, even with stuff they're not supposed to, like changing
string gauges
on some guitars, free setups, etc. Plus, if you write asking anything, the answer is almost immediate.
The greatest thing is the stock. Many high end models (besides the obvious complete line of low end stuff), something Chilean stores rarely have.
