Cosmo Hardware
I wish Ibanez would do away with their Cosmo colored hardware. It tends to look cheap and ugly, especially on white guitars as well the
Jem VSBL
and other non-black guitars. Chrome is the way to go.

Don't really know what you're talking about. The VSBL has vintage silver hardware. The 77FP has
cosmo hardware
, and it looks great. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have two guitars will cosmo hardware. It looks fine.

Yeah, for some reason I just thought he was talking about powder cosmo, since that what everybody seems to be complaining about.

I like the old Cozmo. Very classy - not so bright and glitzy as straight chrome, and more refined than just black. Keep your axe clean, and you won't have a problem with the plating. Wear is something else. Every finish will wear with enough play time on it.

Re: Cosmo Hardware
I think Cosmo is the best hardware finish ever. If you're gonna do away with a hardware color please be gold.

Re: Cosmo Hardware
i swapped out the cosmo for gold on my BFP and it's sweet looking. I don't like the cosmo on the BFPs, but i don't always like the gold on other guitars, so .....

Re: Cosmo Hardware
The only problem i see with "exclusive" finishes like Cosmo Black, Powder Cosmo or Vintage Silver is if parts wear out or you want to replace or upgrade other parts of your guitar, you're often out of luck with finding parts that match. The rest of the industry is still using your standard chrome, gold and black, and only occasionally do you see something different like satin nickel.

Re: Cosmo Hardware
I think cosmo black is the best hardware finish I have ever seen, I think it really makes Ibanez stand out too, as everyone else is either black, chrome, or gold. I think that you may be getting the powder coated, flat version of the cosmo finish, which is called powder cosmo, confused with the cosmo black finish as the VSBL's "vintage silver" finish looks very similar to the powder cosmo finish that they started to use on almost everything after 2001 or so. If that is the case I totally agree with you as I cannot stand the powder cosmo it looks cheap, it kind of makes the hardware look like it is made out of plastic.
