I kinda doubt that Ibanez would actually release those simply because it probably costs a LOT of money to carve into the bodies like that. Of course, if they saw that the demand was high enough then they could make a limited run of them...they'd probably be Korean made and VERY expensive, though.

Re: HR Giger - SHRG1Z - Make this availible

According to the reports this Giger-S is sandblasted like the Jem90HAM and the RG-metal. This will pose no problem with mass production, as they already made ~800 guitars with that system.

Also keep in mind Ibanez has a lot of experience with weird finishes, such as the "drippy goo" DBK, the "cubed" CBK/CBL, the "duct taped" Noodels signature, and many more.

Oh, I never said that they COULDN'T make it. I simply said that it would be an expensive guitar that's not Prestige.

I dunno. What's the retail value and how much would it to buy from you fully setup and adjusted? For a list price like that, I can only assume that it IS Prestige after all since that's like twice as much as a JEM's list price.

Re: HR Giger - SHRG1Z - Make this availible

If it were of prestige quality (read japan quality).

A good deal would be $3500

Then again I have only seen the photos.

I haven't played it.

Looks nice/unique.

I like the S series.

But who knows ...it may play like poo poo.

or sound like it.

What pickups are those?

I'm still here...with my checkbook.

Probably not that much, they will surely use CNC. It will probably rip through that in a few minutes.

Its a prototype, and its the most intrepid design that Ibanez has made in years. If you are willing to pay 3500, why don you go the extra mile and buy it from Rich (in case he could make that happen). A 4000 retail price seems likely.

Hmmm...did you see it at the 2006 NAMM show...that is the only place I have seen it (photos).

It's about time they did a "custom" S series guitar. I like it.
