Dear Ibanez,
I have an old 440R which I am currently refurbishing. This model is no longer in production, and while most of the parts (i.e. pickups, pots, knobs) are easily accessible via OEM parts, some of them still are extremely hard to find, if at all. For example, the first 3 frets on my guitar has dents on them. I would like to get a replacement neck, but since neither my dealer nor anyone else in this region carry it (because it's not in production anymore), there's no way I can get any at all. While that is still acceptable, because I can simply get a replacement in the exact dimensions from some online luthiers, I cannot replace the most vital bit at all.
The Edge Tremolo.
This trem is in my opinion THE BEST trem there is on the market, and my love for it surpasses even the Lo-
Pro Edge that you have produced. However, recently, due to some careless mishap from a fellow musician, one of the
tuning pegs have gone missing. My 3 options are now:
1. To buy a new peg and replace it (which is impossible, since no one here or online that I can fine sells this)
2. To buy a new bridge (Which is also a problem, because my dealer here refuses to bring in any)
3. To buy an OEM bridge (which is possible).
I don't want to go through option 3, because I still want the original Edge on it.
I would love very much to obtain this from yourselves, but there is no point of contact available to me from your Japanese counterpart, and my dealer is really not helping much either. They don't stock it, and aren't even sure they can get it at all.
So, I would honestly like to suggest a better customer service module on your part to facilitate the many Ibanez players in this region.
Thank you.
