Ibanez guitars in Europe

Dear Ibanez,

I have noticed how many of the (cool) models you introduce at NAMM every year are not available here in Germany. A few months ago I was GASsing for a S7420qm and according to the American vendor, they weren't allowed to ship it to Germany because of Ibanez' guidelines. I was apalled by this (yeah, I am exaggerating), for I wasn't able to fathom why Ibanez would limit a the amount of available guitars for specific countries.

So now there are a few Ibbys I'd love to own, but I won't be travelling to the US just for the sake of buying them.

I hope we get more models here in Europe. Black guitars don't really cut it.

Thanks for reading.

I was going to order the Destroyer DT 420 here in Switzerland but it's an impossibility which is a real bummer.

This isn't the fault of Ibanez really. As I understand the situation, it's your country specific distributor, which in Germany is Meinl. They're the ones that choose what guitars to import into Germany. The fact that the US stores won't ship worldwide is a separate issue really, but one that many of us are faced with, be it US to the EU or Japan to the US...

I know 2-3 dealers that will ship anywhere. You just have to convince them you aren't going to run off telling Ibanez or the EU distro.

Was about to say I'm sure you could get something sent over from another country. I'm in exactly the same position as you but in Australia. I always have the option of shipping direct from Japan or US via certain sellers. Just have to pay taxes on it.
