I am so with you on this it's not even funny. Give me a nice alder or ash bodied RG or RGA seven string with a maple board and maybe a transparent teal or green finish, and I'll literally sell my soul if only I can find someone buying.

I'm sorry, basswood's a pretty good seven string body wood, and mahogany is quite good for a few applications, but I'm getting REALLY bored with those two choices.

Well for the record I have ordered two alder bodies to build up my own “custom” Ibanez. I will have one with a maple fingerboard and one with rosewood.

Just my 2 cents here for what its worth. I play out alot with a LNG and a DY and even a customized RG with a glow in the dark swirl and without fail I always have guitarists coming up to me telling me how cool those guitars are. Ibanez guitars were always made to standout in a crowd and be different. I dont want a guitar that looks like everything else and quite frankly here lately their current line up looks just like everything else. No offence but if that cubed finish is the way of the future then I'll stick to my neons.

Peace
