Re: Ideas for 2011....
I really miss all those totally over the top colour schemes on the 777's
With the exception of the Jem7 VSBL, i think every other Jem (from memory, corrections welcome) that's been released/sold in the last 10 years has been a safe Black or White.

Re: Ideas for 2011....
Well, the JEM77 FP and FP2 are both blackish, but the flowers do make them more outlandish then a run-of-the-mill black JEM. Then there's the JEM20TH and the JEM-JR WN (Wine Red), but the JEM20TH isn't really a regular production model and the JEM-JR is actually an RG350 with a monkey grip, not a JEM.
Still, the JEM line certainly could use more colors.

My apologies, must admit i'd forgot about the FP2 and also the BRMR for that matter.
I don't really count the 555's or original 77FP, as that was first released way before 2000 and Jem20th and DNA both collectors models not 'Standard Issue' Jems.

Re: Ideas for 2011....
Well......
How about introducing the RG3120 again in a non cheap version???
Mahogany body with maple top, HH with Paf Pro + Tone Zone, Lo pro or edge trem or at least something with locking studs.
Please please please ;o(
I mean....they make a gazillion different guitars and a gazillion different RG's, but an honest HH prestige with a good trem and good pu's is too difficult??????????
PS. Maybe even in black for a change ;o)

That's one thing they should do, because the 3120 is the best Prestige ever IMO! Imagine one with 2 Evolutions, Vintage Violin finish, Edge and locking studs...

Re: Ideas for 2011....
If you reissued the RG565 at the Prestige level, i would buy one of every color. That guitar has everything I want in a guitar. 24 fret bolt on, maple board, H-S and reversed headstock
. The only other thing I could ask for is to make it in a different body wood, but that's relatively minor.

Re: Ideas for 2011....
I would welcome more options in pick up configuration. Over 90% of the RG and S models seems to come with H-S-H.
One model comes with H-S and none with H-S-S.

There is one H-S-S but it's Japan only. I don't like H-S-H, H-H and H-S are good, H-S-S is ok

Re: Ideas for 2011....
I'd love to see Ibanez make an RG shaped guitar with a Sabre thin body. Think that would be pretty cool.
Oh yeah as well, please get back to the cool ideas/designs that the early J Customs sported eg ART, GEAR, METAL, GOLDS, PAINTS etc...AND make them available for retail sale outside of Japan.

Agreed dude, nice one!!. But the originals... Egypt 1 and Eygpt 2 are the one's to own. In fact I don't know how apocryphal the claims on the existence or production figures on that Egypt 2 are...there seems to be at least one knocking about maybe, of lighter color?? What about JCRG Time?? Very rare too... maybe a one off. I've only seen pics of one.

Yeah, thats the thing. and the same problem when you want to E.g; release a cheaper RG in LNG etc. it just loses the magic.
btw, I wonder how many egypt-1 were produced? tbh the original JCs just can't be beat, I played kevans collection, and nothing touches it. if you play just 1 old JC, you will be spoiled lol

Wise words and indeed you are a lucky man!! RG Egypt 1 is indeed an one off it would appear with Kevan owning that one. Old JC's are great, hard to beat if just for the RARE factor alone. I'd love to own that J Custom Time model. Super rare that is, don't know if it's a one off but there aren't many knocking around. I have pics of that RG Time btw....

Re: Ideas for 2011....
what we need is a good luthier to build quality copies of these but that will be the day.
if ibanez still let us have an open usa custom shop maybe all our dreams would come true.
but i think all these great guitars will remain just a dream.
