JS100 - They should be built in Japan!!!!

For how much consumers pay for a JS100 I'm not happy with the craftsmanship and the fact that they are being made in Korea as opposed to Japan!! *I think Ibanez is making a big mistake doing this! If your *going to keep manufacturing in Korea then lower the price!!! Its to high! but I prefer as I'm sure alot of people do that you move production to *Japan and start making a better quality JS for the price were paying! Thank you for your time!

And charge more money for this already overpriced model? *Frankly, if Ibanez can justify the price of the guitar with ANY reason besides the Joe Satriani name (or something related to it) on the headstock, I'm all ears. *

JS100

I've crucified the 555 and likewise, the JS100 needs to be put out of it's misery next.

Even at a lower price its a bad idea. The whole scenario stinks of used-car salesmanship. It really is the classic sales scam called "bait & switch". See Joe playing a Chromeboy in concert... you go to Guitar Center and $800 later wind up with a korean JS100. Yuk.

IMHO Ibanez is doing itself a major DISservice by releasing "signature model" guitars that are a shell of the real ones played by the endorsers. It is the kind of service that will have customers furious when they learn more about lame JS100 they just paid hard-earned CASH to buy. Not good.

Ibanez can stop the bad press by just halting the shipment of these guitars. Immediately. If Ibanez had released this sludge in the 80's they'd be bankrupt today. Food for thought.

Anyways... One down and more to go ...glen

PS - Yes, I realize there are happy JS100 customers but they could be happier JS1000 customers with a much better guitar for their dollar

JS100

I would completely agree! There would be a hearty market for a 'budget' but quality JS, ie. same electrics as the 100, same unradiused fretboard, but the Lo Pro that makes all the difference.

Ibanez has proven they can make an affordable good Jem, the DBK. There's no reason why they can't make a comprable Japanese JS model...
