Looks are every thing. - Light rosewood looks bad

Dear Sirs at Ibanez
I just spent the day ebonizing the fret boards on most of my Ibanez guitar. You all have started to use really light rosewood for the fingerboards on all of your guitars even thou it looks really bad especially on black guitars ( which is Ibanez's most popular color) a light brown fingerboard. After I used a little dye it made all the difference in the world. Why can't you all spend the extra 10 min.'s and $2.00 to factory ebonize the fingerboards? We will pay a little more for a better looking guitar. Even if you just did it on the Japanese *made models that would be fine.

thanks
Cody Kurtz

I agree that light rosewood is very unattractive on a guitar.

Dear Ibanez,

I must respectfully disagree with the above. Give me the natural rosewood color, any day! Like I want black fingers every time I play a guitar (NOT!) If it only costs $2.00 and takes 10 minutes, let the people who want to paint their fretboards do their own.

Thank you,
Jim

Dear Ibanez
It does not stain your fingers is a dye that stains the fingerboard. Or at least pick darker rosewood like you use to.

Dear Ibanez
Look at the pics of my three 7's my rg7621 looks really bad with that light finger board so does the uv777bk ( at that was not a cheap guitar) the only dark fingerboard there is the uv7bk. What happen to your standards?

I think all the major manufactures are having the same problem aquiring woods after the Rainforest Ban/Treaty. Personally, I don't want my boards stained and prefer them in their natural state no matter what the color. Of course I like 'specimin' quality wood just like the next guy, but I realize how much harder (and more expensive) it is to aquire these to build with.

It seems this one falls under the "Ice Cream" postulate.
