A 7-string Neck-Thru S would be really nice but 24 frets, tired of such an amazing guitar coming in 22's...

I'm willing to second this notion! Twenty four frets before twenty two on the 7-string Sabres would be great - a neckthrough even greater! However, the frets have top priority.

Ya know, I have played 24-fret guitars for the last 20 years and I don't think I have ever used the 24th fret. You guys must have fingers like knitting needles!

Mine are actually a bit sausagey, but I do use the 23rd and 24th fret enough that a 22 fret neck is argument enough for me to stay away from it.

people do say my fingers are long and slender, 24 frets is like a necessity for me, no matter if its electric guitar or bass. I like getting that extra octave right under my fingers and yes S's should have 24 frets, and the 7-string neck-thru 24 fret S would be pretty sweet, but for now I'll stick with rg's and maybe a j custom

The only thing I'll add is... that it does give you more room.

I rarely use the last 2 frets on my 24 fret guitars but they do provide a little more breathing room when approaching the higher frets.

It's roomier...lol

I really need a new custom just like this!!!
now that i did a custom 25 fret (yeah 25) i really miss the additional frets when playing my 540-S LTD w/ normal boring 22 frets.

This Daniel's stuff is amazing.
RCB has one JPM Custom with 27 frets and purple-haze Picasso graphics.
Some one has more info about Daniel's?

I think that S models are designed for 22 frets. Making an S 24 fret guitar might ruin it, but if Ibanez want to try it then good! But 22 fret S models would have to stay regardless.

Yeah that's a custom S originally made by Daniels. I believe it was a neckthrough as well.

RCB's custom JPM is a great instrument, I had the opportunity to play it once when I was in Daniel's workshop and I liked it so much I decided to get my own custom 7-string made by him. I can only say good things about the quality of his (and his brother's) work. However, they seem to take more work than they can handle and my project ended up in smoke after nearly two years of waiting. Sure enough I was quite pissed but they still are great guys and very talented indeed.

Ibanez has already got 24-fret S-model guitars. Look for other thread in here where this guy from Dragonforce has chimed in with a comment or two. You can also see there a picture of him playing one of them. If I'm not mistaken, they have not yet been made public, but apparently they will, eventually.
