Original wizard and edge on non reissues please?
Please bring these back! Not just on the reissues but on normal guitars! I just love both of them and don't know why you guys ever took them off.

Am I the only one that actually dislikes the
original
edge
slightly, because the fine tuners sticks out too far?

I thought some of the new models did come with an original
Wizard
profile neck? The 3XXX series and the like.

Wizard+Edge has always been a winning team, just like Marshall+Gibson. reissue is mandatory, at this point.

well I didn't see that! They should still put it on more guitars.

They're not going to bring back the Original Edges, the licensing fees are too much. People should really learn to stop asking for this. Its been explained a million times.

It's been explained several times, there are no licensing fees. The FR patents have run out.

The original wizard neck profile is 56mm at 24th fret.

I think even the Lo Pro patents have run out by now, no?

As far as I'm concerned, the extra 2mm is a GOOD thing. More wiggle room for high vibrato.

I don't like the extra 2mm personally, but that's highly subjective. My point is the necks aren't original wizard.

I never had a problem with that. I've always preferred the original even over the LoPro. In fact I've never liked a bridge as much as the Edge since them...

Re: Original wizard and edge on non reissues please?
Agreed!
Since I've been playing Ibanez, they've been through so many new designs that never seem to improve on the performance of the Edge. The Edge Zero is a huge reason why I have not picked up one of the new J-Customs in Violet. It's a beautiful guitar, but I'm not spending $2k on a guitar that performs worse than my beat up '91 RG. Bring back the Edge or Lo Pro Edge, please.
As for neck profiles, my understanding has been that Ibanez has switched in favor of increased stability. If this is true, it's a valid reason. But the brand built its name on providing the thinnest, slippery necks you could find. If that changes, I'll stop buying, regardless of how stable the new necks are.

You're correct, it is a matter of taste.
My RG550 and RG2570 are Original Wizard profile... but my 2009 RG1550 is a little thicker/wider...
It took some getting used to, especially with my small hands, but I got comfortable with it and I've noticed the RG1550's neck is quite a bit more stable. I've never had to adjust the truss since the initial setup while usually once or twice a year I'm adjusting the 550's, and every year or eighteen months I have to do the 2570's (it's a three piece, a little more stable than the one piece 550's neck, while the 1550's is of course a five piece.)
