please end cooperative crossover guitars.. - ie Ibanez/Spawn

I know that these companies probably offer plenty of money to Ibanez, but these guitars with advertising on them are really detrimental to Ibanez's image. *When someone (say a Spawn fan) picks up a guitar with "SPAWN" on it, he'll likely buy it, but since it was just an RG-320 with a photo cleared on it, he'll remember that it wasn't a very good guitar. *What I mean is that people look at these sorts of items as "commemoritive issue" products and the like. *For that reason alone they go for large sums of money. *For instance, a Spawn RG-320 has been sitting in Guitar Center for a year with a price tag reading $900.00 Limited Edition Spawn Guitar. *If we're going to have limited edition advertisement guitars...at least make the guitar high-quality. *Now every Spawn freak who picks one up is likely to think "Well, I like the graphics, but the guitar seems kinda cheap." *Not the image you'd want to send to a new audience. *So in summary, get rid of the crossover guitars, or at least use a better model.

Those aren't really the "fault" of Ibanez or Fend*r. *The person you need to email, in the Spawn case, is Guitar Center. *

Sometimes, a "company" (like GC or NASCAR), pays Ibanez big bucks to do these "limited edition" or "custom" models. *GC sells so many of their guitars, that companies like Ibanez and Fend*r and Gibs*on will do...ahem...'custom' paintjobs, for a price. *See also: *Iron Pewter RG's.*
Money talks and bullsh!t walks.

Unfortunatley, very few look/play/sound like signature models, Prestiges, or J-Customs.

they don't even have to have a JEM or J-Custom build quality. *I mean I'm sure someone buying the RG-Snoopy model wouldn't really care if it had 27 extra steps of hand finishing etc, but it would be nice if the limited edition models at least had trem that stayed in tune (ie. Edge or Lo Pro)

Actually, I'll bet someone willing to sink $900 into a guitar based on SPAWN artwork isn't going to know the difference between "good" and "bad" unless it is a lemon. *Gibson has been doing this type of stuff for years, even more blatantly, and are no worse off; don't worry - most people dislike Ibanez stuff for the shred image and pointy headstock, not the corporate one.
