Indeed, I think oil finished bodies will give a very mature image to the ibanez jems. As steve becomes more a 'pater familias' his look becomes more mature (Altough we all like the guy with the lightblue hair ).

The jems will also reach a new audience, i'm shure.

I like tha natural finishes, too. Supply and demand. With a natural wood finish, one has to be more selective of woods, since the grain and any imperfections will, in fact, be the finish.

I agree with this one. I have a 520QSOL and it's my second favorite finish...

There were a number of RGs from the mid to late 90's that came with a natural finish. The RG570MHSOL was a limited production mahogany bodied 570 with the same gorgeous oiled finish as a JS6. We also got he RG547 and a couple of years later we had the RG548, both ash bodied RG570 clones in a natural finish.

I beleive they were unfortunately withdrawn due to poor sales

I used to have a Washburn N2, it was so beautiful, why on earth did I sell it? So if Ibanez put a oil-finish on the market, preferrably a JEM, I know a would buy one (after I bought a 7VWH, some day I will, believe me).
