Re: Please please please

Ebony would be awesome for an ibanez. I do know that the ebony is harder on the tooling so that could be a major reason why we don't see them now. I think it would be a great addition to an rg or even killer on an s series

drill bits and machinery wears out you know. i think basswood is used a lot for example partly because it's soft and easy on bits.

6 fingers check out this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj7WHut8NNo

the tool being used to cut is an end mill and they do wear out fairly quick and would do so at a multiplied pace with a harder wood.

Hey man thanks for that video.
I still don't understand why other companies use ebony and ibbz not.
If esp can use ebony why ibbz can't?
I bet they'd have many more customers cause at least here in Brazil the majority who doesn't buy ibanez is because of no ebony fingerboards.I gave up of buying an ibbz just because of it,I have a rg prestige 1527 and I hate its rosewood fingerboard,it looks like a turd cause brown is the color of turds LOL
I have 4 esp with ebony and I didn't buy 4 ibbz because of those ugly rosewood fingerboards. At least ibbz should give us an ebony option. Not at all models but at least some of them.

Re: Please please please

You didnt buy an Ibanez guitar because it didn't have a dark looking fretboard..? Really?

Mask frets, sand fretboard, apply stain, let dry, viola... I mean.. if the look of the fretboard wood really matters. $4 and 1 day of drying and you can sell those ESPs and get Ibanez guitars.

lol thats true.

I choose ebony for the its tight sound. The looks are nice but its hard keep clean. also i have a black car with black leather... its hot in more than one way. As you can see I did the black as well but ebony is an amazing sounding good for leads. Its very tight and has a nice singing tone to it. Its a harder wood so the notes seem to bounce of it and its very percussive. Id compare it to maple.
