Quality Control on Frets (RGT 3120 Prestige)

I know that when I buy a new guitar (of any make) it will take time to set it up the way I like it. The problem that I have ran into with my newest Ibanez is something that I am not equipped to deal with - Fret Leveling. I am afraid that I will mess up the neck. I have an eight month old RGT3120 TDB and from day one I had problems with it fretting out. Please note that I do not set my guitars up with low action if anything it is high action >2.3 on bass side and > 2.0 on high side. I finally took it to an authorized Ibanez repairman and he stated that there are many frets that are not level (especially from the 14th - 24th fret). The tech stated to me that he had several new JS models in there that had to have the frets leveled. I understand that shipping the guitars overseas may have an effect (how big I do not know) on the frets. Just giving you a heads up.

By the way - I had a fret job on my UV777PBK done last week and it now plays better than ever. My VWH is next to get the frets leveled.

Out,
Gregory
