S Series - Bridges

I know that there are several high end S series guitars with the Double Edge and Lo-Pro Edge trems, but none in the same price range of the RG550. *Why is that? *Is there no demand for them on the S Series? *

Also why are the only hard tailed guitars offered by Ibanez the "classic" appearing ones? *You can't get an RG with a hard tail. *You can get an S series with a stop tail piece or tune-o-matic, but the cosmetic style is so "Fenderish."

S Series

I wish the JS body style was a stardard body. *

As for the S ones... you can get an S520 for like $750 at GC... or $600 if you shop around. *They have an Edge... but they are hard to come by. *It seems like the S series is either reserved for low end models or high end(Prestige/J-Custom) but little quality in between.

To be honest....I see the RG5xx series to go the way of the doo-doo....

S Series

Kirk: I think the S's take more time and work to make. That's why they're more expensive. It would appear that way.
They've made a couple hard tail RG's. The RG 581 is available overseas. They made an RG 471 in the mid 90's. Then of course there's the 7621 and some PGM's.

Jay: The JS style used to be the Radius series. I think they quit making them in when the JS's came out.

Jimm: I don't see the 5XX's going anywhere for awhile. I mean, they still have the PGM. I don't see them selling very many of them anymore. The RG 5XX's are WAY more popular.
