Some new J-customs perhaps???? (Pics working now)
Hi Mr. Hosono
I have had my 2000 RG3120TW for some years (fantastic instrument) and I have had some other guitars as well between now and then. Now Iīm looking to get some more Ibanez' and the other day I was in my local shop and try out several RG's prestige and one JS1200. Iīm sorry to say that I was quite dissapointed with the feel/quality.
So I started to look for some J-customs instead, but the more I looked the more it became clear, that I really canīt find an Ibanez that I really want ;o( and I relly want Ibanez'
Are you considering to make some J-CUSTOMS like this:
RG six string with bolt on neck
Selected mahogany for the body
Selected super high quality maple top with multi AAAAAAAAAA flame (not that skinny stuff, but great looking flames)
Superb Prestige maple neck with ebony and small off center dots (no vine stuff, tree of life etc.) 6105 frets.
Matching headstock also with beautiful flame
Sperzel tuners
HH = Air Norton / Tone Zone
Edge pro trem
with locking nuts
Chrome fittings
Color suggestions - purple, black, vintage violin
A similar run with quilt could probably sell good too ;o)
Examples:
Flame -

Flame -

Flame -

Quilt -

Just waiting for some beautiful and perfect instruments from Ibanez and ready to buy ;o))))) Iīl take the first two J-CUSTOMS in a heartbeat - One like the 2003 MRG1 with crome and one with purple flame ;o) - and one with tiger flame like suhr

Dear Sir,the J-Customs are very much done by the
Hoshino Gakki
people and I've really not much to do with them. Your RG sounds very expensive though.
This is absolutely nothing to do with your question but my favor RG style guitar is always has been the "EVO" JEM7VWH Very cool guitar! Regards,

Yeah.....but itīs looks like a 'pimp guitar'......I just wish they would make some great looking guitars, high quality with offset dots instead. Itīs too girlish for my taste with that vine stuff

dude this is a little rude
your basically telling the an IBANEZ rep all their guitars are no good and they should make you a custom or you won't buy their products
you have less chance than the lefties of gettin what you want

Well, I can tell you that I never wanted to be rude....as you call it.
Iīm just beeing honest......Iīm just so dissapointed that I canīt find an Ibanez that I like at this point ;o( I just tried some prestiges out in my local shop and the truth is, that none of them came even close to my old RG3120TW. The only thing I want is Ibanez and itīs frustrating that I canīt find a new one that I want ;o) (Thatīs not beeing rude, but honest)
When it comes to customs....I just want a beautiful instrument without any vine stuff on it ;o)
Anyway...I read the other thread above and to be honest.....there is way too much 'sucking up' and thatīs not respectful to an IBZ rep IMO. If you canīt be honest here...then whatīs the pont?

Re: Some new J-customs perhaps????
regardless most of the things you are asking for are cosmetic. and have very little to do with the playabilty.
and the pickups and
locking studs
you can put in any ibanez yourself.
so theres really nothing wrong with the current ibanez line then?

From my previous reply:

That´s what is wrong.........they don´t feel as fine instruments like my old one...
So....I´m completely lost with your question
so theres really nothing wrong with the current ibanez line then? <= well, that´s a pretty rude question.....don´t you think?
Unfortunately I don´t live in Japan, so I have not tried any J-customs. Everybody seems to be very happy with them though...the feel, the quality etc., so what I would expect is, that they are better than the average prestige and that would probably be, what I´m lookong for..... (and it doesn´t hurt that it looks good too)

Depends, did Ibanez have to remove the locking studs?

of course they didn't.
but there are more than 101 threads on bringing back the locking studs
and it really doesn't sound like they care or going to bring them back
so we'll all just have to put them in ourselves. its not that hard

Still it seems strange that "you" have to "fix" a brand new guitar from Ibanez.

Yeah it does suck BUT it's better than having no ibanez at all.
i'm not going to flat out refuse to buy a guitar from them if they don't install the locking studs
