The ultimate ibanez (for me)

The first thing I consider is the electronics when I look at a new guitar (I guess being somewhat of an electrical engineer might have something to do with it...). I would like to see an Ibanez RG series or similar that combines and H-S-H Dimarzio pickups and standard 5 way switching with both the LR Baggs X-bridge double edge system AND the Roland GK double edge system all under one hood.

This is something I have recently tried (and partially succeeded) to do with my 1570. I have found that mixing the piezo sound w/ the middle pickup is awesome for clean tones.

One thing that shy's me away from the production Roland and X-bridge guitars are the color options -- mostly all black. Dont get me wrong I like black, but I also like to be different, and theres a lot of black guitars out there! The ideal looks for me would be pretty much like the RG770FM. The white cosmo hardware w/ blue flamed maple body is just awesome on that guitar! Although cosmo chrome would look pretty sweet as well. An optional maple fretboard would be nice too!

If there were a production model, or even a custom offering like this, I would surely buy one!

Re: The ultimate ibanez (for me)

Sounds like a pretty sweet axe greg. I must admit I've got a soft spot for the concept of the "swiss army guitar." I'm constantly trying to customize my own axes to work in the most versatile way. I'd love a roland synth pickup in each of my guitars but currently i don't have the cash. I've thought about getting the removable one that way i can switch it between guitars depending on my needs. Also the new whammy pedal has midi input so that would be cool. I think that'd be a great guitar and I'd definetly pick one up with that kind of versatility.

I'll have to second your ideal guitar. I don't really care about the midi but I'd love to have a piezo floyd. And the blue RG770FM is my favorite look but yes it could use a maple fretboard...

All I need is a 24-fret S3040 with a Double Edge (Lo-Pro) trem and I'm set (for a long time anyway).

If the double edge were an option on everything, how cool would that be?
