time for the RG560 reissue!!

Ok..I've been a fan of these guitars since my first Ibanez in 1988. A used 1987 RG560...and I still have it..why? It's simply the best damn guitar I've owned or played..since 1999, I've acquired two more 560's, a 550, and a 570...Nowdays they are getting very hard to find in thier original state, and when you do, they list them for more than they listed back when they were new. Of course I'm willing to pay the current going price of one that is new...I would suspect around 900$...Also, I've noticed the new Paul Gilbert 301 that has just come out..which is basically an RG560..just a hardtail...These guitars obviously weren't very popular sellers, since they were discontinued in 1993. But I think the market is ready for them. People are asking for them more, they are snatching up and selling at steeper prices than I've ever seen(when you can find them)...This is one overlooked gem in the 500 series.

Hope someone reads this that could make this become a reality...Thank you.

Re: time for the RG560 reissue!!

the question is : in what color? would you accept black?

If I'm not mistaken, there was also RG 560M ( with maple board) back then,. This is good idea too for a reissue.

you're not mistaken, I've got one...it's sweet...I think I would be satisfied with a carotene orange...a few colors from the past and some new ones...

Yes!, maple and some of the past colors like carotene orange, desert yellow for starters and if they do well add/change to other colors for every new NAMM event. I think it should be that way for most of the RG and S series anyway, I love the idea that Charvel is doing with changing colors with every new batch of guitars, kudos! Ibanez would do well to follow in those steps. Just my 2 cents

Re: time for the RG560 reissue!!

My latest acquisition has been an all original '87 RG560 in white. If the spec would be on spec so to speak, I'd have gone new rather than old.

I'd not be prepared to settle for the current trem though. I'd want the original Edge.

I agree that HSS guitar is overlooked all this time.
If Ibanez dare enough to go with something like RG2610.. why not HSS or HS?

Re: time for the RG560 reissue!!

I would love to see it with the same specs as 1987...with the edge!

Nice, Jack...if I'm not mistaken didn't I see that on the bay a few weeks ago?

If you did, it wasn't mine. I've had this baby since 1987 when I got it from Focus II (Now Music Emporium) guitars in Bellmore, NY with the trade of a Kramer Focus 6000 and a little cash. Hell, I still have the original receipt because this guitar has always been special to me for being my first real guitar.

That is nice when you know it's been in your hands from the time it hung in the music store....Could you send some of it's DNA to me so I can try to clone it?

Great point, original Edge if it is a "re-issue" or an Edge Pro if an updated version. That orange ROCKS and with a maple board would be the sh!t!

Oh yes! Carotene orange is THE color to bring back, and a 560 with that would be great, and yes, I would buy it. (if it has a maple board)

Re: time for the RG560 reissue!!

If they did do it, I'd say maple board with matching headstock and dots, 565 style but right side up headstock.
