Timely Web site updates - www.ibanez.com

I know the subject has been covered many times in these forums, but i think it needs to be brought up again.

Another NAMM show has passed, with many new Ibanez product launches and revisions to much of the product lineup. It's great that we're seeing press releases and coverage of the new products on sites like Harmony Central and at the bottom of each article, they say, "For more information, see http://www.ibanez.com".

Then you go visit the site (the September 11th pop-up can probably be removed at this point) and the "Hot news" is of the products launched at last July's NAMM show. Not good.

It's great that we've got Rich Harris, who got product info and some great photos of the new products right from the show floor, but Ibanez really needs to work on that Web thing.

It doesn't represent the Ibanez brand very well when your Web site is perpetually six months behind.

Maybe we could get ibanez.com to throw a link on there to ibanezrules.com?

Yup, the web page should have been updated/created along with the new print catalogs and ready to be published online by the second day of NAMM or whenever all products were announced.

Obvious stuff huh (or is it?) :loco: ....glen

It was only about two weeks ago that one of the Ibanez sites still had the FP and BSB as being available. Surely that was well out of date.

The new catalog won't be available to the public for another few weeks, but it will be up online ASAFP. *Anyone remember how quickly the summer NAMM updates were on the site? *Think back...that's right- there were updates a few days BEFORE the show and a bunch D.O.S. *
They've gotten MUCH better....and *still* ahead of HC by miles and miles (Who reference).

These are probably not on the USA site. *BSB's and FP's (the last of the lot) are still available overseas. *I've seen plenty of them available....but not in the US.

No Summer NAMM= no Vetta.

The Winter one may be the big one, but Summer still counts.

Not true. HC put up a whole pile of Ibanez product announcements over the weekend on their NAMM coverage page.

Still no updates on ibanez.com. (Oh, and Ibanez... if you include just "ibanez.com" in your DNS entries, you can just drop the "www."... hardly anybody uses the "www" any more anyway.)

This reminds me of the fact that
this URL...

http://ibanez.com/

often yields "Could not locate" server" errors at home and work. seems ibanez' server is misconfigured? ...glen

I'm absolutely amazed at HC's "coverage". *Next thing you know, they'll have something good to say. *That'll be the day.....
Glen- I get those errors too. *It's probably a simple DNS fix.
Darren- they heard you about the 9.11 pop-up. *:-)

JEM fans (and Jemsite Forum members?) get a big thumbs up from Ibanez too!
"Thanks to the loyal legions of Steve Vai JEM fans, there's already a buzz about the guitar," said Paul Specht of Hoshino Communications. "The guitar is almost an instant collector's item because some of these people own every one we've ever made--and what's even more impressive they've all got serious chops themselves. Now that's a customer base we're proud to have."

That's exactly what i was referring to, glen, only in other words. It's just laziness on their DNS administrator's part. An http request to "ibanez.com" on port 80 should connect you to their Web site. The fact that it does not is just a poor decision on someone's part.
