Re: What would you like to see from Ibanez?

I would like to see the Edge and Lo Pro make a return, Edge Pro makes me puke. Maybe a new Prestige RG model. Neck-thru + Lo Pro + Alder body + Maple fretboard + late-80's style Wizard neck + nice DiMarzios from stock. That would be great. Although, can Ibanez still make Edge/Lo Pro bridges? I thought they had a problem with the patents from Floyd rose on it?

No more two color shark tooth inlays. The solid white ones look the best.

They still make Lo Pro Edge and original Edge for Joe and Steve AFAIK. Rich can tell you the story why Ibanez decided to release new trems back in 2003.

Howabout taking on the Epiphone Les Paul and bringing out the SZ singlecut that we've seen in prototype form over the last couple of years?

Maybe even a J-custom version to give PRS a run for it's recently back in production with the SC money

Re: What would you like to see from Ibanez?

How about a limited customshop? Put standard models on there and offer 1 to 3 different inlays per model, reverse or non reverse and some colour options. Add a premium to this service and let everyone get close to getting a custom shop-ish model. It wouldn't be full custom, but all different profile necks with 24 frets can be fitted on all models that are 24 fret scale length bodies if you see what I mean. The headstock and AANJ attachment ore the same, and as far as I can see most headstocks are black, so it wouldn't be too hard to put together, as you just mix and match parts.

Add a pickup selection where you choose the pickups, and off you go. It'd be very cool and as most of the pieces are going to be stock it would just mean putting parts together.

A limited customshop would be feasable, and could be done with an online order form, and putting together guitars like that wouldn't require highly skilled guitar builders, just good quality control.

I think we'd all love to see this, even if it's only an RG custom shop, neck type, viper, ultra or wizard, inlays, dots, offsets, split block or sharkteeth etc etc etc. metallic, flatcolour or see through finishes.

I reckon most folks who'd love to order the guitar, would also be quite happy for a 6 month wait to get just what they want.

Meanwhile these folks are looking at PRS or Anderson and spendingtheir money elsewhere.

But hey, EVERYONE here knows that right?

I'm getting a Carvin Contour 66 next with the whole chibang piezo, phase switch, active pickups in emerald green with a quilted top and a Wilkinson trem .

Re: What would you like to see from Ibanez?

I think with every pretiege Ibanez, there should be a free all expenses paid trip to the Ibanez factory which includes flights, accomodation, as much food and drink you like, and whatever women you like. I know this might be too much to ask, BUT, it might make Ibanez fun again.
