Why did Ibanez stop producing wizard necks with maple fretbo

I wonder why Ibanez stop producing wizard necks with maple fretboards? *I'm a fan of the old RG 550's (made in Japan) that came with a maple fretboard. I would like to see the rg3120 and even new jem models with a maple fretboard.

they stilll have rg550's w/ maple fretboards(that were made in japan). *but i'm guessing you know that and are asking why they don't offer anything other than that and some lowend models. *good question. *i love maple fingerboards. *i'd also like to see a 7 string with a maple fretboard and abalone dots or even no inlays. *one kinda like dave weiners, but in a different color. http://www.daveweiner.com/dw7o.htm

Ibanez Japan is still making the RGR580 and that has a all maple board. 1999 model had a wizard on it and the 2000 and 2001 have wizard II. They feel and look really great. Haven't had a chance to try the pups yet so can't comment on the sound!

It's bad that only famous or very rich guitarists have access to simple options like maple fretboards, fixed bridges, other switching systems or other colors than black or grey metallic. The kind of options that doesn't really have to be more expensive. I don't think it would be that bad for sales to do away with a little of the rather extreme streamlining for the next years US/european lineup... just my opinion
